Life
Is A Book Which Has
Already
Been Written
In the great scheme of things, we all
matter very little. I have always been of the opinion that your past is still
back there somewhere and your future is already happening. In that vein of
thought, I do not believe that one can change the future no more than one
could change one’s own past. What is to be will be. No matter what you do, it
is meant to happen. There is absolutely nothing that you can do to stop it.
Some of you will argue with me about this. I know because some of you HAVE
argued with me about this. It is like someone who walks out into the road and
gets flattened by a truck. This was meant to happen. It could not be stopped.
You might say: “What if I ran out and tackled him before he got hit by the
truck?” Well folks, if you did that, then that is how it was supposed to go
down. You didn’t stop him from getting hit because apparently he was never
going to be hit to start with because you stopped him.
Then there are those who like to discuss the aspects of traveling into the
past. If the chance ever comes about, go for it! You can’t mess anything up!
If you do, it was meant to happen that way and will be forever looped in a
continuing circle from the time you went back until the time you went back.
You will just continue to live these years over and over again. Of course if
you go, it won’t be because I urged you too. It will be because you are
supposed to go.
As for the age-old dilemma of “What if I go back in time and manage to get my
great, great, great, great grandfather killed? Won’t that cause me to not be
born?” Well Einstein, if you are not born, how can you go back in time and
cause your great, great, great, great grandfather to get killed?
If you go back in time and cause a problem with your OWN timeline, it can’t
really be happening because if you are not born, you can’t go back in time to
start with.
I know that this all sounds incredibly weird. But if you really think about
it, it makes sense. You can’t change the future because no matter what you
do, it is meant to be. You can’t change the past because no matter what
happens, it was your destiny to do it.
To put it
simply: Just as we cannot change the past, I do not feel that we can change
the future. Life is a book that has already been written, and we are only
here to turn the pages.
